Seeing as the year has finally come to an end, I've decided to rate
my top ten best and worst movies of 2004.  We'll go ahead and start
with the top ten best movies.

Top 10 Best:

10. Shaun of the Dead - Sam Raimi said it was good, so I had to go see
it.  Like always Sam Raimi was right.

9. The Girl Next Door - A funny movie about any teenage boy's
dream...a porn star moves in next door.

8. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle - This is one of those movies
where you either have a good sense of humor and love it, or don't and
hate it.

7. Dawn of the Dead - I had just first viewed Romero's classic Dawn
of the Dead in October of 2003, so when I heard they were remaking it I
was a bit worried.  I figured they'd just come out with some crap
remake of a classic.  They proved me wrong in this case.

6. Napoleon Dynamite - I was skeptical about this one but I had heard
good things.  Good thing I went to see it, as it was one of the funnier
movies of the year.

5. Miracle - I'm a hockey fanatic...how could I leave the hockey
movie off my list. "Nice Hit OC"

4. Anchorman - In my opinion the funniest movie of the summer, Will
Ferrell delivers again after a hilarious performance in "Old School."

3. The Bourne Supremacy - A worthy sequel to the fun and exciting
"The Bourne Identity".  Not normally a Matt Damon fan, but this one was
good.

2. Kill Bill Vol. 1 + 2 - I count this as one movie, seeing as in the end
that's what it was supposed to be.  Quentin Tarantino continues to
prove he is one of the best directors of today.

1. Spider-man 2 - I started this list off mentioning a man named Sam
Raimi, well you can never go wrong with Mr. Raimi.  Spider-man 2 is
better than the first, a feat that's normally hard to do, and Raimi pulls
it off spectacularly. Also Bruce Campbell's part is hilarious.

Honorable Mention: The Alamo, The Day After Tomorrow, Dodgeball, Secret
Agent Men: The Search for the Special Sauce

Top Ten Worst: (By the way I did not view many of these movies because
I knew I hated them before they ever even came out.)

10. Princess Diaries 2 - Why would you make a sequel to a movie that
wasn't even good in the first place?

9. 13 Going on 30 - Hmm...lets take the idea from "Big" except put
a girl in the movie instead of Tom Hanks.  Jennifer Garner is
attractive but it wasn't enough to make me want to see this.

8. Hellboy - A big red man made out of crappy CGI...that sounds like a blast.

7. The Chronicles of Riddick - I've never seen a Riddick movie, but I
saw the trailer for this and quickly realized it looked terrible.
Speaking of terrible, Vin Diesel is a terrible actor.

6. You Got Served - I don't even know...I don't see how a movie
about dancing could be so popular go figure.  Then again most of the females I know love Footloose.  Must be a girl thing...

5. New York Minute - Any movie with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in it
should be burnt.

4. Van Helsing - A huge disappointment.  I was looking forward to
seeing this, but my hope was all for not.  The CGI looked horrible and the
acting was just as bad.  I liked Hugh Jackman in the X-Men movies but he
wasn't even trying in this.

3. The Village - This was another huge disappointment, the twist was
easy to find but that wasn't even the worst part.  The worst part was
the movie wasn't even scary.  What happed to the M. Night Shyamalan
that directed "The Sixth Sense"?

2. Garfield - Bad idea for a movie.  Bill Murray decides he doesn't
want to make Ghostbusters 3 so he can make crap like this...good call
Bill.

1. Catwoman - Wow where do I begin.  I never saw this movie but the
trailer told it all.  What really pisses me off is that they don't even
bother to mention the fact Catwoman was created in Batman's world,
they act like Batman never existed.  Maybe it's better off that way, we
don't want Batman being connected with this rubbish.

Movies I Look Forward to Seeing in 2005:

War of the Worlds - Spielberg is my favorite director and he's
teaming back up with Tom Cruise in this one so it certainly has potential.  I
also can't wait for Spielberg to start work on Indy 4.

Batman Begins - After the disaster that was "Batman and Robin" I
hope this movie can bring back some respect to the Batman series.

Star Wars Episode III - This movie will probably be a disappointment
like the first two prequels.  But maybe Jar Jar Binks will suffer a
horrible death and it won't be so bad.  Plus Vader makes a cameo
appearance.

Well there it is
